Uganda’s Vice President Urges for Lifting of ‘Improper’ Ebola Travel Restrictions, ETHealthworld

Nairobi: Uganda’s vice president called on Tuesday for countries to lift travel restrictions against Ugandan citizens, saying that his country had controlled Ebola in the current outbreak.
“Uganda, although it has had previous epidemics, we would like to state clearly that we have never exported any epidemic. Never will we export it in this current epidemic,” Jessica Alupo told a high-level meeting of African leaders and donors on the Ebola crisis.
“We therefore call upon all countries that have imposed improper restrictions on Ugandans to lift them because Uganda has effectively controlled Ebola in the current outbreak.”
