Surya Hospitals adds 55 beds in Santacruz facility; to open one hospital in Kandivali in FY27, ETHealthworld

Mumbai: Surya Hospitals, specializing in comprehensive healthcare for women and children, on Friday said it has a capital expenditure of Rs 80 crore for this financial year, which will be utilised for setting up a new facility in Kandivali and adding an additional wing with 55 beds in its Santacruz facility.

“We have five women and children-specialty hospitals across Mumbai, Jaipur and Pune (which will become operational soon). We are planning to set up a new facility in Kandivali this year, and we have expanded our Santacruz facility. We have a capex of Rs 80 crores for these two hospitals,” Surya Hospitals founder, chairman and managing director Dr Bhupendra S Avasthi told PTI.

Surya Hospitals added 55 beds, the Amber Wing, taking the total strength of the facility to over 250 beds dedicated to women and child-centric healthcare infrastructure at Santacruz.

The funds, he said, will be raised through internal accruals, and the company is cash-rich.

Besides, Dr Avasthi said Surya Hospitals is also looking at opportunities to set up a women’s and children’s specialty hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

“Our Pune hospital will become operational soon, and we hope to finalise a facility in Ahmedabad in this fiscal year. However, it will take another year to make it operational,” he added.
