Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday laid the foundation stone of a 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospital to be constructed in the District Ayurvedic Hospital premises in Kangra’s Dharamshala.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the state government is committed to strengthen a comprehensive and integrated healthcare system by combining modern medical services with AYUSH-based treatment methods.
“The new hospital will enhance healthcare infrastructure in the region and provide people with easier access to integrated healthcare services based on AYUSH systems of medicine,” he said.
Later, Sukhu inaugurated a shopping complex and entertainment centre, developed by Dharamshala Smart City Limited (DSCL) at a cost of Rs 7.50 crore, at Charan. He said that the facility would provide local residents with shopping, entertainment and other essential day-to-day services under one roof, reducing the need to travel long distances for basic requirements.
CM Sukhu further said that the new centre would increase footfall in the area, creating fresh business opportunities for nearby shopkeepers and small entrepreneurs.
