Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Merge to Expand Healthcare Access in Non-Metro Cities, ETHealthworld
Bengaluru: Corporate hospital chain, Aster DM Healthcare and health platform, Quality Care India Limited (QCIL) have successfully completed their merger, which was first announced in November 2024.
Following the merger, the combined healthcare network will be known as Aster DM Quality Care Limited with 39 hospitals across 28 cities and over 10,600 beds.
The move brings four healthcare brands including Aster DM, Care Hospitals, Evercare and Kimshealth under the same group.
“In the new combined entity, Dr. Azad Moopen will continue as Executive Chairman and Mr. Varun Khanna will lead the business as Managing Director and Group CEO,” a press statement said.
It added that the merger has boosted its foothold in South and Central India, with a significant presence in fast-growing healthcare centres beyond the metros.
The group said it was uniquely positioned to expand access to specialist care and advanced treatment across India’s tier 2 and tier 3 cities including Nagpur, Aurangabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagercoil, Kolhapur, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Kottakkal.
“These centres will play an increasingly important role in the group’s long-term strategy to decentralise affordable and advanced healthcare by expanding specialist services, investing in cutting-edge technologies and strengthening centres of excellence closer to where patients live,” the statement added.
