Goa Chief Minister Launches Advanced Ambulance Services for Highway Emergencies, ETHealthworld

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has flagged off four advanced ambulances for the Directorate of Health Services to strengthen the state’s highway medical response system and provide faster emergency care during road accidents and disasters.

The ambulances have been procured under the disaster management initiative at a total cost of Rs 1.43 crore, an official statement said.

After flagging off the ambulances on Monday, Sawant said they would be deployed exclusively for highway medical response so that emergency healthcare assistance reaches accident victims and other patients requiring urgent medical attention in the shortest possible time.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring timely lifesaving support during road accidents and emergencies across the state, he said.

The government remains committed to strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure, disaster response systems and ensuring accessible medical services for the people of Goa, the CM added.
